They say love is forever and you forever is all I need

Hi lovelies,
These are the last pictures of Cocopuff.
My mother took a couple of these. She let Puffie crawl out of his cage and walk around on her desk. He managed to crawl into her empty coffeemug. As you might know after you drink coffee a little foam stays behind. As he crawled in he got covered in foam. When my mother when you clean him off the cleaning lady was horrified when she saw him. Apparently she is scared of hamsters.
After one of his slow wake-ups lately. He needed to be cleaned and this is how a sleepy hamster looks.
Hiding in his clean home.

Hope you enjoyed these. Goodbyeee little man.

Goodbyeeee peeps

I will never forget you, Puffie

Hi lovelies,
I have bad news... On Saturday the 28th Cocopuff, my cute hamster passed away. I get tears in my eyes as I even write this because it might seem like just a hamster to you but I loved him very much. He was about 2 years and a month old. I know that that's old for a hamster but I really hoped he miraculously would turn immortal or something. I knew his death would be coming soon but he seemed so well I thought it would still be a while. He was still active but he slept a little more and was a little harder to wake up but I thought that was because it's winter and this usually happens in his wintersleepytime.
His first ever picture
I feel horrible because the day before his death I let him stay in the tv room instead of bringing him to my room. I let him stay there because I didn't want to bother him and unnecessarily wake him up on his old day and I did that with the best intentions but now I feel like I abandoned him in his last day. I could have seen him one more day and I really regret not seeing that because I miss him terribly now that it's too late. My mother was with him and about 1 AM he was acting a little weird and she held him for awhile and put him back and in the morning she came to tell me and when we went to see, he had already passed. I immediately started crying and I still cry now that I have to write this.
I still remember the day I saw him in the store and I fell in love instantly with this amazing babyhamster. I went back the next day because I couldn't leave him even though my mother forbid me to get a pet while I living in another city to study. Anais talked me into buying him with the line that he would make me so happy and I deserved that. Her speech came true and I loved him from the moment I got him. I have always been overprotective with him and loved him as if he was my own child. He was the first pet I got from when I was old and responsible enough to choose for one and take care of one myself. As a child I didn't really care about my pets because I was too little to fully comprehend everything that came with it and was fastly distracted to other things than my pets. Now everything was different.
The day I got him was the 9th of January and I hoped he would make it till the 9th this year. I was planning on spoiling him with hamstercandies. Sadly that hasn't happened...
I'm sitting in my room as I write this and I can't help but notice how quiet my room is without him. I feel lonely in my room and miss him intensely. I already dream about a new hamster but the next one will never be same and even though I don't want to replace him because he isn't replaceable, I still need another one in my life. I just want my Puffie back, is that too much to ask? I guess so but that's what I want even when I know it can't happen.

I still have so many pictures of him that I want to share and I will still do that. He was the prettiest hamster I will ever find and I shouldn't deny you or myself pictures. The pictures will follow another time but I have a little piece of film from a couple weeks back that is too cute not to share. You can watch that below if you want to.

I needed to write this but it's been really hard on me. I loved him and I always will.

Goodbyeeee

It's too cold outside for angels to fly

Hi lovelies,
I'm collecting all my animal photos in one post again. I love making these posts the most. I really love animals. It's just so damn cute.
First up, we spotted a kingfisher in our yard. It's a pretty rare bird that rarely shows itself in northern Europe.
Next in line is Pinky. He is my brothers tortoise and in this picture he tried to escape. He managed to block his piece of driftwood and tried to crawl out. Luckily we saw it in time.
A couple of weeks ago I accidentally disturbed a nest of ladybugs. I opened a window and a ladybug fell I tried to put it outside and than I noticed the others. A little nest of ladybugs, hibernating. I hope my disturbance didn't kill them. I put the fallen one with it's family and hope they are okay.
Look at our little Twinkie, he is all grown up now. He and his brother, Jack have become little fatties.
These are the babies, as we call them. The new smaller nest is still as cute as ever.
My little active muchie. He is 2 years old now and still going strong. He has started to age though. You can see it in his face and on his belly. He still has bold spots and they aren't going away. I checked and he doesn't have anything wrong with his fur so I guess it is due to old age.
Tell me in the comments if you have any pets.

Goodbyeeee

Coco-scare update

Hi lovelies,
Remember last week when Cocopuff was in a really bad condition and I told you I'd keep you guys up to date? Here I am a week later and a few days later.

So My little boy had an ulcer full of pus and was 'operated'. My dad opened the ulcer and squished all the junk out. My dad is not a veterinarian but he is a Doctor so he knows what he's doing, it really is the same as with people. We put a balm on the wound to help it heal faster but only twice because I was afraid that he would lick it and die of poisoning. Jep I'm paranoid. We further let nature go it course . I tried to check him every day or at least every 2 days. He really doesn't like it when you hold him on his back to check his butt or belly, so that wasn't easy. The wound healed very fast and looked smaller and better everyday. A week later on Thursday the wound is almost completely healed and he is doing much better.

So physically everything seemed to go well but I was so stressed and I cried a couple of times because he never wanted to picked up and ran away from me when I put my hand near him. I tend to overreact to small things because I love him so much but it seemed like he was scared of me and didn't like me anymore. I do know it was due to stress and because he was still in pain. When time passed he got more interested in interaction and got more active. Now Friday a week later he is running again in his wheel, runs around, reorganises his entire house, he walks towards me when I enter the room or stand next to his cage and he just voluntarily jumps on my hand again. Conclusion: He loves me again and feels better, I can see it and am a very happy mommy now.

I played with him a little on friday and filmed him when he was running around. He does this thing where he runs to the side of my bed, where I hold my hand and he jumps on it. I put him back on the bed and the thing happens all over again. I call it his 'workout' because he runs faster and faster to the side every time. The footage is a bit shaky and not always in focus because he is so damn fast and I have to catch him so yeah...

As you can see he is an active munchkin and does a lot better. He is soooo cute.

You're like a dictionary, you add meaning to my life

Hi lovelies,
Don't be surprised, I'm here with animal pictures again. I can't bear it, to not take pictures of them. Too damn adorable. I even have a surprise animal for y'all. Jep I just typed y'all. It sounded right in my head. You've never seen it at my blog before, it will excite you so keep on scrolling.

First and for all in the category My Cute Hamster: Cocopuff
As you may or may not remember from this post, my hamster thought it would be nice to climb into his food bowl by pulling himself upwards. It did work, he was strong and looked adorable but here is the downside (look below). He did it so much that he scuffed his belly and now has a bald roll of fat. I moved his branch of wood to the side because I was afraid that if he kept doing it, he would start to bleed and the healing would itch. It's just better to prevent right? A couple of weeks later he is growing little fuzzy hairs on his bald spot. He'll be fine
In the second category, Anais' fat cat: Mousti
Hoovercat below

Third category, The New Gerbies: Twinkie and Jack
Taking a sand bath together
And now for the most exciting category: New Tenants Of Our Yard, Wild Squirrels
We have noticed that a couple of wild red squirrels live in our yard. It's so exciting because they are pretty rare and getting extinct. You aren't allowed to keep them as pets so I was very excited to see one in real live and they choose to live in our yard, YES. We see them running around, collecting nuts from our walnut tree. They hide them everywhere, in the grass, in our flowerpots,... I'm hoping they make babies and we get to see them in spring ^^
swishy tale
Collecting nuts
Aren't all the pictures adorable. I can't even handle it.

Coco-scare

Hi lovelies,
I've had quite a shocking day today. I'm writing this last minute instead of my queued posts. I was playing with Cocopuff yesterday and didn't notice anything odd about him. Today my girlfriend came over because she hadn't seen him in quite sometime and afterwards we would go have lunch with my grandparents. When she took Cocopuff out of his cage we still didn't notice anything. He was eating normally, walking and climbing like he always does. He sleeps a lot but when he is awake he is a very active little guy. So she took him out and laid him on his back to check on his bald spot ( he got it from constantly climbing into his food bowl by pulling himself into it) and then she noticed it.

He had a really red and swollen spot from more than a centimeter onto his butt with a little wound. I panicked and was ready to call a veterinarian right then and there. But because he was still so active I decided to wait and let my father have a look at it. He is a docter. Okay for people but maybe he would recognise what it was and be able to do something about it for free instead of an expensive appointment with the veterinarian. When I came with my hamster he first laughed at me because he thinks its stupid that I'm so worried about my hamster and so attached to him. To my father it's just a rat and if it dies you buy a new one. Not to me no, when he dies it will be of old age and not because I didn't care enough to help him if it's something else. And boy it was something else.

When my father saw it even he was kinda shocked. Cocopuff had an ulcer full of pus. Anais had to hold my little munckin while my dad disinfected the wound, removed the scab and then it came, pus. You wouldn't believe how much puss came out of it. My munchie was clearly in pain, had bitten Anais already a couple times when my mother came with the idea to give him something to bite on. It was quite an horrible experience for him, the poor thing (also for me, I was in shock). He still has a wound now but I'm checking it regularly so that it won't infect again.

He has been recovering from his mini-operation and he is doing fine. I choose the toughest hamster in the store apparently. He has been walking around, eating, chewing on his drink bottle as he always does. Seeing all of that makes me think and really really hope he will make it. He seems to be doing fine now. I hope we saved him a lot of future pain because it looked awful and must have been painful. I'll keep you up to date.
Yesterday he was still doing this
and this,, isn't he cute
Let's all cross fingers and goodbyeeee

So many of my smiles begin with you

Hi lovelies,

When I was away I missed my little muchie and I thought maybe you did too? Even if you didn't I'm still treating you to pictures. Even though this never happened before I got a few opportunities to watch him sleep and I needed to take pictures. God it's just so darn cute. He even made a second sleepyplace downstairs. The spoiled little brat.
