Good things come in a Chanel package

It was my birthday !

Last month was my birthday. I turned twenty-three the first of September. Today I'm showing you what Anais got me for my birthday. We got to this pretty late because I couldn't decide what I wanted for my birthday. We have a tradition where each party can pick their own birthday present and the other party gets it for them. That way everyone gets something they really wanted. Besides I really don't like surprises nor am I easy to buy for considering I buy everything I want instantly which means nothing stays in my wishlist for long. 

This year I wanted the Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad in 268 Candeur Et Experience which came out in the Rouge Allure Ink line that features Kristen Stewart. She is an inspiration in every way. She's so pretty and absolutely rocks the look of red eyeshadow which inevitably made me want it even more. 

On the hunt.

Of course by the time I've decided I wanted this eyeshadow palette it's sold out everywhere. I must have done over five stores in two cities before I turned to the Internet to make my order. This is also the point where I couldn't contain myself and decided I'd rather spend over 100 EUR than spending 10 EUR on shipping. I fundamentally refuse to pay for shipping. There is always something on the site that I want and at least I have something for that amount money where paying for shipping is just money thrown out the window. The fun thing though about shopping online is the official (and totally cute) packaging which shows the great marketing that goes into luxury brands.

Luxury make-up is worth it, let me tell you why.

You get a beautiful box and an envelope containing your receipt, info to send items back,... Let me just tell you even those trivial things feel luxurious and expensive. The paper is better quality, the envelope is embossed, your purchases are packaged in tissuepaper and sealed with the official Chanel stamp. You get the most beautiful samples. I even got an extra tiny Chanel 5 léau due to great timing on my part as they just launched it. Beside the obviously great quality of the product itself, opening these kind of packages makes you feel special which makes the money even more worth it. Great marketing Chanel, great marketing.

Besides Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad in shade 268 which is this beautiful all matte eyeshadow quad with all neutral shades and one red shade I've also ordered a Le Volume De Chanel mascara in Noir and a eyeshadowstick in the shade 187 Brun Chatain. I haven't tried them on my face yet but both the stickeyeshadow as the powder shadows are sooo soft and creamy, absolutely beautiful.

Time for some presents

Hi lovelies, 

It seems like I want to start every blogpost with 'long time, no see', I hate having less time to blog. I still haven't figured out how I can have better time-management so I actually find time to blog. Enough whining, let's discuss the subject of the day.

Almost 2 months ago I celebrated my birthday and I got a few gifts from my girlfriend and I also got myself some gifts.

On my birthday itself Anais brought me a little bag stuffed with goodies. The bag contained a nude Catrice lipstick, a Catrice nude eyeshadow palette and a Chanel creamblush. All things I wanted but never bought for myself . That's why I found these presents even more considerate. But as you can see in the picture, there is an extra lipstick. I bought myself a Mac lipstick, because you now... you can buy birthday presents for yourself. (Every excuse to buy stuff will do...)

A few days later my next present came in the mail and turned out she bought me this Rise Against band tshirt. I absolutely love this shirt. Good job Anais <3

Last but not least we agreed that we would book a trip to Disneyland for my birthday so the weekend after my birthday we headed of to Disneyland (pictures of which can be found here and here) but I ended up buying a few things there. One of those is this cute Mickey Mouse mug with vintage looking drawings of Mickey Mouse on.

Lastly in Disney I could leave these cute little snugglets behind. They are part of the stackable toys collection. They are extra cute baby versions of the Disney characters. I bought Thumper from Bambi and Perry from Phineas and Ferb.

Voila, those were my birthday presents. I felled extra blessed with my presents and activities around my birthday.

You only turn 21 once

Hi lovelies, 

For my 21st birthday I went out to dinner with my family and girlfriend. We went to Caliu - Paella y Tapas, which as the name suggest is a tapas and paellaplace. It had only been open for 10 days so we were happy to try this new restaurant. 

My dad and girlfriend had the Paella menu which consisted of an appetiser of toasted bread covered in tomatoes and olive oil, a second appetiser of dried tuna with marcona almonds. As the main dish they got a seafood paella.

My mother and brother got the tapas menu that was sooo elaborate. They had so much little dishes. To sum up : olives, light grilled sardines, the same tomatobread thingies, chicken/ham croquettes, potatoes with garlicmayonais, a salad with goatcheese, tuna and courgette tortilla and a platter of Spanish salami and other meat delicacies.

I ordered a la carte and went for dried, slightly smoked ox meat and ordered the same chicken croquettes. To be honest I also tried from everyones plate and ate almost all those jummie potatoes. It's my birthday and I can eat whatever I want to ;)

Afterwarts we went to a nearby cafe for a sneaky little drink and went home. Little victory to remember : The girlfriend slept over at my house for the first time (that my parent know of at least, so sneaky). Slight drunk parents, yeah that worked out in my favor. Back to sleeping over at her place for the rest of the weekends?

The food was really jummy and worth it's money but that being said it definitely wasn't the cheapest I've ever eaten. Luckily my parents treated but do think about that if you're thinking about going out for dinner at Caliu.

What I wore - Birthday dinner

Hi lovelies, 

Last Monday I celebrated my 21st birthday. I went for dinner at a new place in town but you'll see pictures of the food and mood of the night within 2 days. 

For the evening I wore my purple flowerprinted smockdress from Boohoo combined with a pair of black heels from New Look. I kept my make-up neutral and used the items I got from Anais as a birthday present. Yes I'm talking to you Chanel cream blush ;)

Also yes I'm aware the pictures are not in focus, that's what you get when you try taking outfit pictures when your slightly drunk.

I eat cake because it's somebody's birthday somewhere

Hi lovelies, 

Today is a special day, you're probably expecting this because it's Easter Monday but NO. Today is special because it's my girlfriends birthday!!! I'm going to take this opportunity to completely forget Easter and use this post to congratulate her on her special day. 

My lovely girlfriend is turning 22 today. I've spend the last 3 birthdays with you and I plan to spend many more with you. I want to grow old with you and we will.

So my special girl, I hope you're happy and feel well. I hope we'll celebrate this day in every way you hope we'll celebrate it. I hope we'll spend our lives together in happiness with many more birthdays to come. I wish you a happy birthday and an amazing day.

To give this post just that little bit extra I included a couple of pictures I took from you at the shore. You're pretty never forget that. Oh and I'll love you forever, never forget that either.

Hey Shawty It's My Birthday!!

Hi lovelies,

Today is my birthday and I'm here to treat you to this collage of selfies. Unfortunately my passing through a birth canal can not be celebrated properly because :
A - I feel like shit, thank you mother nature, you couldn't have waited just the one day?
B - I still have retakes and have to study for my last one tomorrow
C - I will have to miss my girlfriend on this day because of reason B.

The only thing I have to cheer me up is :
A - Javenais which is a chocolate cake and
B - My crown which makes me feel like a princess.
C - I did get birthday cards from my family members

Jup it's not that bad after all. My birthday will be celebrated somewhere in September maybe multiple times, thanks to my lovely girlfriend who will be by my side nearly everyday starting tomorrow. Anais I love you soooooooo much. I don't know why I needed to mention that now but here it is ;)
