No ordinary love

Hi lovelies,
I'm writing this for the most special lovelie of all, my girlfriend Anais. This week she has been in Paris for a schooltrip and I had to miss her for 5 days. It's hell I can tell you that for sure. I'm not used to not seeing her for that long, we've lived together and now we still see each other almost every day for at least a little while. When we're apart we text non stop (I need all the attention I can possibly get) but now that she is abroad I can't constantly talk to her because that costs a lot of money. I miss her intensely and can't wait for her return, which is tonight. I hope I can go pick her up when she arrives and give her all the cuddlies I have been holding in this week.

I'll leave you all with the lyrics of the song I'm addicted to (Memphis may fire - No ordinary love):
"Come back to me love, I forgive you. Oh how I've missed you. Just know every time you run, I'll be right here waiting. This is no ordinary love. Listen up, this is no ordinary love. This is unconditional."

I'm going to add some Anais-themed-outfit pictures from our trip to  Maastricht so I can look at here pretty face whilst writing.
I love you darling, but don't ever go on a trip without me again, okay? I hope to see you soon.

Things I do too much : Care, Eat, Think, SHOP

Hi lovelies,
I couldn't wait to wear my Steph dress from boohoo.com, so I wore it almost immediately after my package arrived. Not only did I wear it but I also forced Anais to take outfit pictures, the things she must suffer through.
Only seconds before deciding to shoot I got myself a hot chocolate so between shots you could see me sipping on my at that point no-longer-hot-chocolate. I do not have great timingskills. Luckily it did turn out to make a cute picture.

What the munchies got up to #1

Hi lovelies,
My laptop is full of animal pictures so I have another animal post planned for today. I just love my tiny munchies so much. I also have a little Marshie-update. She is absolutely cute and adorable but she is such a little scaredypants. We think she might be blind or at least doesn't see as well as she's supposed to see. It's not the biggest problem because hamsters can smell very well and just feel everything with her whiskers. The only problem is that because she doesn't see very well, she's easily scared when she hears noises she doesn't know or if she just get surprised. It's harder to get her out her cage to get a bond and play with her but lately it's getting better. She has gotten to know me better and now crawls on my hands and let me hold her. She has also gotten comfortable just walking around and exploring. Makes me a very happy hamstermommy.
Little Jack holding on to his drinking bowl.
Marshmellow emptied her hamsteringcheeks. This all came out, can you believe that?
Exploring
Peep
Exploring some more
Mommy, you there?
Just chillin' with my paws up
Ah so cuteeeeeeeeeeeee,

Life is though but so are you

Hi lovelies,
I have an eyelook for you today. I didn't wear any other make-up nor did I epilate my eyebrows so excuse that. I started with an eyeshadow base. I used the Essence I love stage eye primer, which I didn't blend all that well. I used this because I knew out of experience that the eyeshadow I wanted to use creases like nobodies business. The eyeshadow I'm talking about is the Bourjois creme shadow in Prune Nocturne. I used this all over the lid, in the crease and under the eye. I brightened my eyes with a touch of light pink eyeshadow from my H&M smoky palette. After that I took my Essence superfine liner and lined my upper lash line. I finished things off with two coats of my beloved L'oreal manga mascara.

Valentines Day Extravanganza

Hi lovelies,
It was Valentines day a while ago now so I thought to make a post about my Valentines day. Me and Anais kept it simple. The main reasons for that is that going out costs money that we don't have. I also find that it's such a hyped up day that doesn't actually have a good reason to be hyped up. You should love your partner everyday and show it. I'd rather get a bouquet of flowers on a random day than on Valentines day because you're socially obligated to give an attentive present on Valentines day. It just seems less attentive and more 'because you have to' on that day. That's my view on Valentines day but my girlfriend is a hopeless romantic nonetheless and she's always attentive so she made plans for us, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Anais got me a few presents. My favorite one, by far, are these cupcakes. They were delicious!!! Besides that she got me a little book full of coctail recipes and as you may know a Lush bubblebar.
My day went as following : We both went to school after that we went to my house because I had some stuff left to do. I needed to pack my stuff to spend the weekend at Anais' place. I needed to clean Marshie's place. So Anais came and cuddled with Marshie whilst I did the cleaning. After that we walked around town because we missed our bus because we cuddled Marshie for too long. We ate, we watched TV, all at Anais' place. After that we took a long and lovely Lush bath. Watched some more TV and that's about it. Nothing too fancy but still very lovely.
The creamy candy bubblebar was our bubble-deliver of choice. It smelled absolutely Divine and the scent lingered around the skin.
  The bubble-making-proces.
On a sidenote, who else does this? I go sit in the bath almost as soon as I turn the water on because it's just too hot when I have to get into the bath when it's already full? Apparently it's strange. So that was more info than you probably wanted to know but hey.

Change can be a good thing

Hi lovelies,
I changed the lay-out of my blog!! Excitement all around!! Not all that much changed actually.
  • What changed? The background colour changed to purple and I added social media icons so you can find me on my social media (don't get to excited I'm not good at being social). I edited my about-text and those social media buttons can be found underneath that.
  • What did I learn? HTML is a bitch. It took me 2 evenings and a lot of frustration to change these little things but it's worth it.
I really like how it turned out but just in case I printscreened and saved all the advanced settings of my blog so I can always go back to green. Just a little tip if you're not sure if you're gonna like the change in lay-out.

What do you think? Can you cope with the change? I really like it.

What I bought - Boohoo order

Hi lovelies,
I bought things, pretty things. After I watched a Haul video from Beautygloss, I got really interested into Boohoo. I decided to check their site and I found 2 amazing dresses. A lot of amazing dresses actually but money is limited. Check below for pictures and a little review.
Packaging is gorgeous
When my order arrived i noticed that the quality is really good, the fabric feels nice, the items are true to size, price is decent, my order arrived within a week. I only have good things to say. But the best part? That must be costumer service. You don't have a clue. When I sent them a e-mail I got a reply the next day, the reply was friendly and felt personal, not one of those sent-to-all-replies. I postponed my order because I had a problem with visa, not only did they sent me an e-mail that they noticed I didn't finish my order and asked if I needed help but for almost a week (Yes that's how long it took to sort visa out) my items stayed in my shopping basket. You can't believe how lovely that is, usually your basket just empties and then you have to search the whole site again to find that item you wanted, only to discover it's now sold out in your size. That's absolutely horrible but that's a problem you no longer have to deal with when you shop on boohoo.com
Yes it's creased but that's because I wore it the whole day
Steph dress // Penny dress
What do you think? I'm so happy with my order. I definitely recommend Boohoo.com to shop on.

Comparison review - Rimmel Wake me up foundation // Catrice All matt plus foundation

Hi lovelies,
A little while ago I got my first e-mail from a reader. She told me she was searching for a new foundation and asked me if I could swatch my Rimmel wake me up foundation and my Catrice all matt plus foundation in the sunlight. So that's what we're going to do today, I'll also add a review to my swatches.
Packaging :
Both are very pretty, let's just agree on that. The Rimmel foundation looks so cheerful and colourful. Compared to the Catrice all matt plus I do find that this one looks a little more timeless and classy. Both are glass bottles, contain a fluid ounce of product and have a pump.

I'm going to putt this out there... It took me months to figure out that my Catrice foundation has a pump. I always turned the cap and then ended up with something that looks like a spatula. This is NOT what you want to do. You have to PULL the cap, not TWIST. Otherwise you just screw the pump right off. When I both it I even showed it to my girlfriend. I was like 'What the hell is this?' She tried to open it and neither of us figured out that you had to pull. So if any of you didn't figure it out yet... that's the trick.
Colour :
I have the Rimmel Wake Me Up in 100 Ivory and the Catrice All Matt Plus in 010l Light Beige. These are both the lightest shades in the range, at least in Belgium. As you can see there is a huge difference in colour. The Rimmel foundation is a lot darker. It has a pinkish undertone, it looks slightly orange in the pictures but I always wear my face make up natural, so I wouldn't use it if it looked as orange on my face. My girlfriend wouldn't let me either, nobody likes looking orange. Concluding I can safely say that it has a pink undertone, or at least on my skin. The Catrice foundation on the other hand is a lot paler and more neutral. It looks yellow in comparison but a truly yellow undertoned foundation would look horrible on my skintone so I guess this must be neutral as it does look natural on me.

The Catrice is lighter so this probably suits pale girls better. I wore the Rimmel shade in summer and it looked so pretty but it's a little to dark for me now.
Coverage :
Both are medium coverage but I guess you could build it but I have never tried it. I'm too scared from cakey make-up to even try putting more than a pump on my face. I like my make-up sheer and natural so I only use a little foundation and make sure you can still see my freckles. I'm not the best person to take advice from if you want a full coverage foundation but if you do like a natural look I can tell you it is possible with these ones.
Formula :
They both feel smooth, sink in relatively quickly,... The Rimmel foundation offers SPF 15, the Catrice one does not have SPF. The Rimmel foundation promises a wake up effect and the Catrice all matt plus goes for the obvious matt approach. These are the 2 complete opposites in foundation.

I always heard that if you had an oily skintype you should go for matt, my skin is not overly oily. Normal to oily I would say (I'm just winging it here) but I love both finishes. The all matt plus is a matt foundation but it doesn't look powdery or cakey. Always a win. The wake me up foundation goes for a glow and boy does it glow. In the right (or wrong depends on if you like it) lighting and in the sunlight will there be a big chance you can look like Edward Cullen in broad daylight. I often catched myself looking in my reflection in the bus window and saw my face glitter. If I applied my foundation with my hands, my whole hands would be covered in glitter as soon as the sun strikes. It's obvious but oooh so gorgeous. I don't know why but I really like this effect, even though that kinda gives away that you're wearing make up. It does really offer a pick me up in the morning and makes you seem more awake and alive.
Ah the obvious sheen on the skin when wearing Rimmel.

Lastly onto price point :

The Rimmel wake me up foundation comes it at 12.99€ whilst the Catrice all matt plus foundation costs 6.59€.
Look glitter!!! this picture was taken in the bathroom under yellow lighting.

I hope I could help any of you, did you like this review? Any tips?

Nails of the day #14 - Blues Brother Vol. 2

Hi lovelies,
I have a chosen a dark blue nailpolish today. After all the fuss about that blue Essie nailpolish called 'after school boy blazer' I decided to wear a similar dark blue shade out of my own nailpolish collection and skip spending money on a 10 euro nailpolish. It's just too much money for a nailpolish in my opinion. I have had this shade for 3 years, it's the Catrice ultimate naillacquer in Blues Brother vol. 2. It's a dark blue shade with shimmer. It's not the same as the Essie one but meh good enough for me. It's pretty dark but in bright lights it looks bright blue. I painted them really really badly, I ended up with more nailpolish next to the nail than on it. Trying to get them neat afterwards and removing all that excess nailpolish is nearly impossible so don't judge the result.

Valentines day outfit idea

Hi lovelies,
As a follow up to my Valentines make-up post, here is an outfit idea.
I'm a little old fashioned in the way that I like to match my make-up with my outfit. Besides that purple is my favorite colour so why not pick a purple dress. I went for a purple flower smock dress from Boohoo. An unboxing will follow soon as I ordered another pretty something. So back to the outfit. I paired the dress with my pineapple necklace and my favorite Pepe Jeans peep toe heels. This is one way to go but it's February, it's cold so when I actually had to walk out the door I combined the dress with an oversized black cardigan, black tights and boots with a little heel. Just to give you another idea.
What have you planned for Valentines day?

What's on my face #7 - Valentines day

Hi lovelies,
For once I'm following the the big blogger events to make a post about. Forget Christmas, Valentines day is officially upon us. That's why I've prepared a beauty and outfit post for you. So whether you have a big date, a meet up with friends or anything else, you can take inspiration from this.
For the specifics : This look is entirely made out of drugstore products.
I started with my eyes because it would be easier to fix fall out. I put on the Essence I love stage eyeshadow primer (forgot to put it in the picture). I packed on eyeshadow with a flat Hema shader brush. I picked the 4th brown glittery shadow from the H&M smoky shadow palette. I used it all over the lid and under the eye. It takes a few applications because the texture is quite sheer. I put the purple colour in the crease with the Essence smokey eyes brush. I blended everything with the Hema fluffy brush. I used the Essence superfine liner to make a tiny little wing. I topped everything off with the L'oreal manga mascara. I wiped away fall out and mascara stains with a little bit of make up remover.
For the face I used a pump of Catrice all matte plus foundation, dotted it over my face using the fluffy side of the Zenner make-up brush and blended it over my face. Afterwards I put the Catrice re-touch light reflecting concealer under my eyes to hide my dark circles (nobody needs to know you were up all night in anticipation for that big date). I contoured using the Essence sun club bronzer and a flat blush brush to get in the hollows of my cheeks. I dabbed my Hema blush in 02 on the apples of my cheeks. Mine sadly broke a bit one morning out of nowhere. I used my fluffy Chanel brush, it's the only non drugstore product. Lastly I applied the NYC smootch proof lipstain in Champagne Stain on my lips. I recommend opting for a lipstain, it will stay on better while munching on chips on a girls night or doesn't get all over a certain boys/girls lips at the end of the night.
Voila, that was my valentines day make-up look. You can wear purple tones at any day but it has something romantic, don't you think?

If you celebrate Valentines day, let me know and what you have planned.

Goodbyeeee

What I bought - Maastricht beauty edition

Hi lovelies,
I told you guys I went to Maastricht for some after-exam relief, a.k.a shopping. I restrained myself because I wanted to make a boohoo order when I got home so I only bought 4 beauty items. Take a look below if you're curious what I bought.
First I went into H&M, it was cold and it was the first shop I saw. This H&M sells make-up so I had to take a look because my local H&M doesn't stock make-up. I took home this smoky eyeshadow palette. It has a light pink shade, a taupe, a purple, a purple-brown and a black shade so it's perfect for a smokey eye that's a little different than just a brown or black smoky eye. I'll do a review on this soon.
Next I went into Kruidvat for some hair products, I was watching old Fleur DeForce videos and she spoke about this texturising spray. You hear people go on and on about the Oribe texturizing spray but I just can't justify the price. It's 38 pounds which is about 45 euros. 45 euros for a hairspray? Are you insane? So when I heard about this L'oreal dupe I was intrigued and bought it. I also bought the L'oreal wave creating spray because I have straight hair and sometimes I just want wavy hair. We girls always want what we don't have, don't we? I never heard anything about this product so I'll try to review both of them.
Lastly I got something from Lush. It was almost valentines day and we were celebrating our 2years and 10months-anniversary she promised me I could pick something from Lush and she would buy it for me. After smelling EVERYTHING for about an hour I made a choice. I went for the Creamy Candy bubblebar. It really does smell like candy and fills the entire room with it's scent and I haven't even popped it in the bath yet. I'm very happy with my choice so Thankyou darling. You so romantic, aren't you?
I was hoping to add MAC Russian Red to this post but it was sold out :( Luckily that makes for the perfect excuse to plan another Maastricht shopping trip.

Together is my favorite place to be

Hi lovelies,
I told you guys already I went to Maastricht the other day and I have some pictures to share. What did we do the whole day? Shop, eat, walk around and that's about it. On a sidenote, when I got back home I managed to get little marshmellows attention, she finally is started to get used to be around us. She walked around on my bed and gave cuddles to me and Anais. That munchkin makes me so happy.
Nomsies at KFC
Browsing around the MAC store. I went especially to Maastricht for the MACstore so I could buy the Russian Red lipstick and well as I could have expected it was out of stock.
The city has stars on the floor everywhere.
I had the bestest day. It was a great way to relax after the exam period. I bought a couple things, you'll see those in a while on the blog.
