What I bought - YSL lipstick edition

Hi lovelies,
Amongst a few shoppingtrips I acquired lipsticks and surprisingly they all turned out to be by Yves Saint Laurent. I need to stress these were a few shopping trips spread over 2 months. Fall is my favorite time to shop, all the great winter stuff comes out and everything from sweaters to lipsticks is better.

Considering I worked during the summer months I had some money to spare and decided I could spend some of that on high end stuff and those coupons I got from spending to much in the first place also enabled some purchases. Let's get started.
Let's discuss packaging. Aren't these just gorgeous? I realise you pay more for better packaging but when you whip these out of your handbag, it really is worth the extra money.
Ah the one with the best packaging in my opinion. This is the YSL Rouge Veloptee in shade 1 Nude Beige. I think I found the perfect nude with this one. It's a very muted pink shade which resembles my natural lip colour without being to light because my lips can get very light from time to time. It's neutral enough to go perfectly with a heavy smokey eye and still not too nude to go with a light make-up look. It's also really moisturising which does leave a little bit of a sheen behind but if you dab the lipstick in with your fingers it will appear more matte if that's more to your taste.
The most Autumn related purchase is the YSL Pur Couture lipstick in shade 28 Rose Boheme. It's a dark fall lipstick without being too in-your-face like a dark purple. It's a pink-purple berry shade that has a blue undertone in my opinion. The finish is a special one, shiny and still matte, shimmery without seeing glitter in a swatch. It's gorgeous but I do realise this shade isn't for everyone. The packaging is also very pretty, sleek and classy.
I already did a review on the kiss and blush lipsticks here. As you can read there I absolutely loved them and I wanted more of them and that surely happened. I bought 2 extra shades the first one being this pink shade (shade 8 Pink Hedoniste). I love how matte they are without being drying. It's a lovely subtle shade of pink that's still opaque without being too overpowering.
This is the second Kiss and Blush in shade 5 Rose Effrontee. This really isn't a subtle shade but pretty nonetheless. It's a pinky red shade that really brightens up your entire face. I absolutely love it.
The aftermath of blogging and lipswatches.

The YSL lipstick offering has really blown me away and they are all I wear lately. Sometimes it feels good to spend a bit more money on high end make-up. I have not regretted it for a second. How about you do you prefer high end or not?

Review - Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipsticks - Oh juicy!, Matt about Pink, Princess Peach

Hi lovelies,
A couple of weeks ago I bought a new lipstick. The lipstick in question is the Catrice Ultimate Colour in the shade Princess Peach. I saw the name and just had to have it. That purchase means that I now have 3 lipsticks of the line and that deserves a blogpost, don't you think?
These are the shades I own. Oh Juicy! which is a bright orange, Matt About Pink aka a lovely bright matte pink and the newest one Princess Peach which is obviously a peach shade.
On the swatches you can see that the pigment is really good for a budgetproof lipstick. Swatches go from Princess Peach to Matt About Pink to Oh Juicy! They are really easy to apply, don't have a very noticeable taste/smell, are cheap and have gorgeous packaging.
The shaderange is pretty big, from nudes to brights to reds. The only downside is that you can't really tell which finish you're going to get because there are mattes and creamy finishes in the Ultimate Colour lipsticks.
The sleek black packaging. I love how classy these look even though they only cost 3.99€.
As you can see you don't get a lot of product but for that price it seems more than reasonable.
I really love these. Try them out.

Review - YSL Kiss & Blush

Hi lovelies,
It's about time I did another review, right? I'm going to give it away at the start... I love this product and so will you. I'm talking about the new-ish Kiss and Blush lipstick/cheek stain from YSL. For starters I love multitasking products that can be used in different ways and for different purposes. This product works great on the lips and on the cheeks as a blush. I've read a lot of reviews about the Kiss & Blushes before I purchased mine because Yves Saint Laurent is expensive. The Kiss & Blushes costs 31.95€ a piece in Belgium. You better decide first if the product will be worth it before you purchase it because it's pricey. So after reading countless reviews and trying it on about 4 times in the store to make sure I like the colour I bought mine in shade 7 which is the muted down orange-peachy shade.
I've already talked about the fact that I've read a lot of reviews and a lot of them mentioned that they loved how the product worked on the lips but hated it on the cheeks. I was told it would stain in weird patches but I've tried it every day now for 2 weeks and it didn't stain my cheeks weird once. In fact it works perfectly for me. I just dot a couple of dots on my cheeks and blend it with my fingers and I proceed with the next cheek. That way it will look perfect. I completely agree that it looks gorgeous on the lips. When you first apply it, it looks a bit weird but the more you smootch your lips together and spread the product, it will look better and better. It takes a couple of minutes but once it sets it's perfect. I really love the velvet matte finish. I also really love the colour I chose, it's the perfect peach that looks special yet so natural. The peachy shade also looks pretty on the cheeks. Especially for Summer I love a peachy cheek combined with a bit of bronzer. I usually wear this colour on the lips and cheeks at the same time because it pairs so well.
So what's left to talk about besides the packaging? I really like how chique it looks, it looks like a fancy nailpolish but I like it because you can easily fool people when you put it near you lips ( I think that's funny) but I love that it's just different from all the other products. The applicator is fine. I'm not wowed but don't hate it either
I really like this product and am seriously thinking about buying other colours if I find another colour that I like. Have you tried it?

The Lip Product Addict TAG

Hi lovelies,
I've seen 'The Lip Product Addict Tag' floating around Youtube. It was invented by Estee from Essie Button and Amelia from Amelia Liana. I really liked the idea so today I'm going to show you my version. When it comes to make-up lipsticks are my favorite, that's why I figured this would be the perfect tag for me.

When I was a little girl I already showed interest in lipsticks and when I got older and went to secondary school that only grew. The sad part was that I was too young to wear lipstick and it also wasn't allowed at school. That's when I vowed to myself that when I would be in my twenties I would start wearing lipstick everyday and especially red lipstick because I loved that the most. Well that time has come and I've really started to make an effort to wear more lipstick. Of course I'm not wearing it everyday, it takes a lot of work to maintain during the day so for school it still isn't as easy but I'm working on it. Now that I'm older I feel more confident to wear I bright lip in public. When I was younger I always feared that people would stare and think negatively about it, which was another reason why I wouldn't wear it. Luckily I am getting over that and have started to love wearing lipstick. That being said let's get started with the tag and dive into the questions.
I also wanted to add that the lipswatches are all a little bit more vibrant in real life but thanks to the cropping, they got a bit more blurry and lost a bit of intensity.

1. Favorite balm or treatment?
My simple Kruidvat lipbalm which is just the homebrand from our drugstore is my favorite lipbalm. It's supersimple nothing special, great for everyday and under lipsticks. I also always use it over a lipstain when it becomes drying. Okay it's probably not the best lipbalm when your lips are so chapped it hurts but that can be avoided when you use this lipbalm regularly. As you can see I did because that's literally all that's left. It's also the only one that is almost finished before I've lost it. Lipbalms always get lost somehow. I didn't add a lipswatch below because it's just a clear balm.

Special little mention for my newest addition, the Dior lipglow. This balm adapts to your PH balance and I thought that would be nonsense but wanted to try it anyway after reading so much good things about it. It's a bit pricy at 32.25 euros but worth it. It gives my lips a light pink flush and gets darker during the day so it gives a bit of natural color whilst moisturizing my lips. At the picture below the pink isn't that obvious yet because I just applied it.
2. Best eye catching red?

For best eyecathing red I chose my maybelline color sensational lipstick in pleasure me red. I bought this around Christmas and is perfect for the holidays. It looks really chique. I prefer darker reds like this one. It also doesn't make my teeth look more yellow than they already are so that's a plus. The lipstick last pretty long and has a satin finish. Another nice thing about this lipstick is the smell, I can't quite describe but I definitely recommend it.
3. Best luxury and best drugstore lip product?
For this question I chose a bright and nude colour for each. Let's start with luxury brands. I chose Givenchy in Champs Elysees. It's a bright fuchsia. It's the bottom left swatch. Let's talk about the packaging of this one, it's genius. There is no cap that you have to hold or could get lost. It's a slide-up mechanism. I've said it once and I'll say it again, genius. For the nude one I went for the Chanel velvet lipstick in la raffinee. The swatch next to Champs Elysees. The finish is gorgeous, matte but not too matte. Also gorgeous packaging. Sleek and with a clickable lid.

My drugstore choices are the Bourjois velvet editions. These are also matte because that's the finish I love the most. I already wrote a review here.
 4. Favourite MAC lipstick?
I don't know if it's the best lipstick by mac but it's my only one. It's a really matt dark red lipstick. It is in fact not really all that different from the maybelline one, both are amazing but this one is that tiny bit more matt.
 5. Most disappointing lipproduct?
This products isn't really that disappointing because I loved it at first and used it everyday. The reason why I don't like it anymore is the smell. It smells like candy and I can't handle it anymore without getting a tiny bit sick in my stomach. The colour is also slightly off. It's too light pink and has a bit of the saint-germain-effect.
 6. Lipliner, yes or no?
I don't own any so this has to be a NO. I'm a no-fuss-kinda lady when it comes to make-up. Adding another step is just to much effort. As you can see in my swatches, my lipline and the colour of my lips is very light so I could definitely benefit from a good lipliner but I just can't be bothered.
7. Best gloss?
I don't like a shiny finish on my lips so I really had to think about this. I don't own any of the conventional lipglosses so I opted for 2 crayons with a glossy finish. The NYC sweet gloss splash stick was limited edition but is a pretty berry gloss. It doesn't last all that long but no gloss does, right? I also really like the Bourjois color boost crayons. I wear the orangetoned one the most because it looks really natural on me, especially in summer with a bit of a tan because it's more warmtoned.
 8. Something Extra?
My something extra is the kind of lip make-up I love the most : lipstains. I hate reapplying my lipstick through the day, I hate how I can't eat or drink when wearing lipstick without getting that weird outline, I hate not being able to kiss someone without leaving a print. None of that happens with either of these lipstains. The maxfactor is a bit more expensive but has a gorgeous red colour. The NYC smooch proof lipstains are great for a smaller price. Champagne stain is my perfect my lips but better colour and is really natural. It last really long. With both you can apply some balm afterward to keep your lips moisturised.
Now what I want to know is are you confident enough to wear bright lipsticks regularly, or is it not really your style?

Review - Bourjois Rouge Velvet Edition Lipstick

Hi lovelies,
Today I wanted to review a new lipstick launch. I'm talking about the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks by Bourjois. I'm completely blown away by this lipproduct. This is a liquid lipstick that dries matt. When you first apply it it has a creamy, velvet (I see what they did there) consistency and after a while it dries to a completely matt finish. The best thing about it is that when they dry, it feels like you have nothing on your lips. This product also happens to be very longlasting without being drying on the lips. Another big plus is that the colour doesn't transfer when you kiss your boyfriend/girlfriend.The packaging is pretty and handy due to the doe-foot applicator. The colourrange is gorgeous and I actually wanted all the colours. The only colour I miss is a real nude colour because I've bought the most nude shade but it's still really pink. The price is decent at 13.99 euros. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.
I got these 2 colours, Frambourjoise and Nude-ist. It's the pink-reddish shade and the most nude, old pink shade. I also really wanted the dark red colour(Grand Cry) but out of all the colour swatches I did in store, this one was the least smooth so I was a bit hesitant to buy that one but I probably will buy it at one point...
Yes that's the cat as my background...
As a little tip I would say that's best to let them dry before you rub your lips together because the colour can move a bit and than it doesn't look as opaque as it would otherwise. Because they really are opaque in one coat, even though that doesn't come across on the swatches above.
I'm wearing Nude-ist on this picture.
This one is Frambourjoise, also a gorgeous shade.
To conclude, I really love this line. I owe Bourjois a big thank you because I love matt lipsticks but they are impossible to find on the drugstore market. Not only matt but also non-drying which seemed to be impossible before this launch. I think this is the best liplaunch of the year, for me at least. What do you think about them? Have you tried any of the shades?
